Prime quality goat cheese from the Eifel

In the town of Gillenfeld, located close to a beautiful crater lake – the Pulvermaar – and right in the heart of the unspoilt countryside of the Vulkaneifel, there lies the goat cheese dairy Vulkanhof. The family farm has been certified as one of the best cheese dairies in Germany and is appraised for its prime quality and delicious cheese all over the world.

The Vulkanhof exists since 1961. In 1985, Ms Inge Thommes-Burbach took over the farm from her parents as a pure dairy farm. In 1995, it was completely reorganised and since then has been concentrating only on goat keeping with an associated cheese dairy. By doing so, the farm has put its focus on a kind of agriculture that is quite atypical of the Eifel – but success has proved it right.
